Frequently Asked Questions
1. How does your pricing work?
Depending on location, we charge $2.25 or $2.29 to clean a single garment and $1.49 or $1.69 to clean a single man’s buttoned down, cotton or polyester dress shirt. Other household items, such as comforters, blankets, sheets, tablecloths, curtains, small rugs, etc. are also cleaned at prices that are significantly lower than the industry average.
2. Why are men's shirts cheaper than women's?
The Industry is ahead of its game! Because of the similarity in design and style of men’s dress shirts, equipment manufacturers make equipment specifically designed to finish men’s shirts quickly and efficiently. This results in higher productivity which lowers the cost of finishing men’s shirts.
3. Why do I have to pay in advance?
Cleaner4Less facilities process significantly higher volumes than smaller cleaners resulting in larger cash flow requirements. Paying in advance allows us to quickly turn sales into cash to provide the cash flow needed to keep our costs down and to keep our prices low.
4. What are your hours of operation?
All Cleaner4Less locations are open Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 8:00pm, and Saturday 8:00am to 7:00pm. Some locations are open till 6:00pm on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.
5. What are my payment options?
You can pay using cash, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover. We do not accept checks.
6. How does the same day service work and do you charge extra?
We do not charge extra for our same day service. We will have your garments done by 6:00pm as long as you drop them off by 9:00am. If you happen to drop off after 9:00am, they will be completed by 6:00pm the next business day. We do not offer rush service.
7. What is "Full Immersion" cleaning?
We do not cut corners. We completely immerse garments in dry cleaning solvent for deep thorough cleaning. It is the old fashion dry cleaning method except we use environmentally friendly and non-harmful solvent. Our process of full-immersion and full reclamation is superior to competitors that use machines that do not fully immerse garments or fully reclaim solvent when drying (which can leave clothes with a chemical odor). Our process of full-immersion requires more work but produces the highest quality results and is recognized as the best industry standard practice for decades.
8. Do you press garments?
Yes. We press every garment we clean. We have state of the art pressing equipment and our pressers are fully trained to use them. We even have a “press only” service. Some of our competitors, in their attempt to cut cost and speed up their operations, cut corners by using “steam tunnels” and “steam cabinets” which only de-wrinkle garments.
9. Do you clean draperies?
We clean and press flat panel drapes. We do not clean pleated drapes.
10. Do you clean items such as bags, purses, shoes, backpacks, and duffle bags?
We do not clean these items.
11. Do you clean pillows and cushions?
Yes. We clean pillows and most small cushions. We do not clean large cushions.
12. Do you clean rugs and carpets?
We clean only small throw rugs that can fit in our machines.
13. Do you have pick-up and delivery service?
We do not have pick-up and delivery service.
14. Do you clean fur?
We do not clean fur or faux fur.
15. Do you clean leather and suede?
Yes. Some of our locations clean leather and suede on site while others use a third party approved by us. We clean only leather and suede clothing items such as jackets, coats, vests, pants, and skirts.
16. Why was my item rejected?
We may reject an item due to previous damage or if it cannot be safely cleaned.
17. Do you have alteration and tailoring services?
Yes. All our locations provide most commonly requested alteration services such as hemming, zipper replacement, small tears and splits repair, size alterations, and many other basic repairs. Some of our locations have a tailor on site while others use a third party to do the tailoring.
18. How long do you keep old orders?
We follow whatever guidelines state laws require for the disposition of unclaimed orders. However, items not picked up in 30 days are held in an off-site location for the duration required by the individual state laws. If not picked up by then, the items are generally donated to a local charity. In the absence of state laws regulating the disposition of unclaimed items, we will hold onto an unclaimed order for 30 days. After which we will not be responsible for that order. We do prefer that you pick up your order as soon as it is completed or no later than 30 days from the time it was dropped off.
19. Are your cleaning agents organic?
All Cleaner4Less use organic cleaning agents. We are happy to offer "perc-free" dry cleaning which keeps us ahead of the rest in environmental responsibility and promotes the use of non-carcinogenic solvents.
20. If I have a customer service related question, who should I speak with?
If you have a question or problem regarding your order, you should speak with the Store Manager of your local Cleaner4Less. See our “Locations” page for contact information for all of our locations.
